In a recent interview with GQ, Chicago’s finest Chance the Rapper opened up about plenty of personal issues, including his relationship with Chi-Town, creating his critically acclaimed album Coloring Book and refusing to compromise any of his artistry to appease the music industry.
Chance also casually mentioned that Coloring Book made it all the way to the White House, offering about President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle, “They’re bumping Coloring Book hard up there. If you go up there, you’ll probably hear Coloring Book. This is not a joke at all.”
When asked how he knew that the Obamas were rocking to the album, the rapper says that daughter Malia Obama’s musical tastes rubbed off on her dad. “He’s a good man,” Chance said of Barack. “Even if he wasn’t president, if his ass worked at, like, Red Lobster, he’d be just a good man working at Red Lobster.”
After getting the presidential stamp of approval on top of everything else that Chance has accomplished this year, it seems that Lil Chano from 79th is definitely on an ultralight beam.
