Chance the Rapper has never been one to follow in anyone’s footsteps, and today he’s marking another milestone: the first-ever music festival at the Chicago White Sox stadium U.S. Cellular Field in his hometown, set for Sept. 24, 2016 (while the Sox are in Cleveland). And he’s bringing along collaborators and friends like Skrillex, John Legend, Alicia Keys, Lil Wayne, 2 Chainz, Young Thug, Tyler, the Creator, Lil Uzi Vert and surprise guests for his Magnificent Coloring Day, which he announced this morning (July 25).
The Magnificent Coloring Day, his first-ever festival, is the latest in a series of milestones for Chance in the past few years; in 2015, his collaborative project with Donnie Trumpet and the Social Experiment, Surf, became the first release to be sold for free via the iTunes Store, while his latest solo project, Coloring Book, became the first release to chart on the Billboard 200 through streaming numbers alone. The festival arrives in the middle of Chance’s Magnificent Coloring Tour, which kicks off Sept. 15 in San Diego and will run through Oct. 21.

Presented by Chance and Bud Light, a 30-second video released by the MC this morning also promises a “very special guest” as the host, and a countdown on Chance’s website indicates that pre-sale tickets will go on sale at 6 p.m. ET for Citi card members.
The venue is notable not just for its location on Chicago’s south side, but also because it’s not the first time Chance has partnered with the White Sox. Earlier this year, he partnered with the team and New Era to redesign the Sox hats, which were released in a limited run of 2,000 at the team’s 2016 home opener. And he’s also adding his name to the ever-growing list of artists who put on their own festivals, a trend that seems to be gaining steam of late. (Two performers on the bill, Wayne and Tyler, also have their own festivals: Lil Weezyana and Camp Flog Gnaw, respectively.)
