Cardi B always speaks her mind, especially when she feels cornered by the media or her opposition. Earlier this morning (May 11), the fiery MC once again skewered her detractors on Twitter after posing the question as to why male rappers are able to speak freely without any repercussions.
“Why is it that male rappers can speak how they want act how they want but people constantly bash me for it,” she tweeted. “Why do i feel like i have to apologize for being who i am ?talking how i talk and being what ya call “Ghetto “ wtff .LEAVE ME ALONE !”
Since her ascension to superstardom, Cardi has consistently vocalized her disdain for those who have blasted her for being outspoken and opinionated. In an interview with Howard Stern earlier this week, she lambasted the media for their interests in her rumored feud with Nicki Minaj.
“The media, they just so thirsty to put women in hip-hop — not just women in hip-hop, color women — against each other,” she said when addressing her conversation with Minaj at the Met Gala on Monday night (May 7). “I don’t understand why they do that and why they want to do that. Like, I’ve seen so many Hispanic artists — females — work with each other, and it benefits them so well.”
