Footage uploaded to Twitter on Friday (Sept. 7) night from Harper’s Bazaar’s New York Fashion Week event appears to show Cardi B getting into a physical altercation with another person. And while the person in question isn’t Nicki Minaj — Twitter commenters are saying it’s her Love & Hip-Hop co-star Rah Ali, a friend of Minaj’s — TMZ and People are reporting that the two did, in fact, feud at the party, culminating in an entourage-against-entourage fight that ended with Cardi lunging for someone and launching a red shoe at them.
Following the airborne shoe, Cardi was escorted out of the party with a lump on her head, according to People. Minaj stayed inside.
Shortly after the video hit the Internet, the Invasion of Privacy MC posted a lengthy screed against an unnamed foe on her Instagram, saying their ongoing insults against her as a mother are the final straw in a long-gestating fight. According to her Instagram post, Cardi attempted to talk out these differences with the unnamed person twice only only to have them brush it off. Naturally, commenters are assuming the object of her ire is Minaj given the circumstances and the long-rumored feud between the two (despite the two MCs appearing together with Migos on “Motorsport” earlier this year).
“I’ve let a lot of shit slide! I let you sneak diss me, I let you lie on me, I let you attempt to stop my bags, fuck up the way I eat! You’ve threaten other artists in the industry, told them if they work with me you’ll stop fucking with them,” Cardi wrote on Instagram.
“I let you talk big shit about me!! I addressed you once in person, I addressed you a second time in person, and every time you copped the plea!! But when you mention my child, you choose to like comments about me as a mother, make comments about my abilities to take care of my daughter is when all bets are fuckin off!! I’ve worked to hard and come too far to let anybody fuck with my success!!!! Bitches talk all that shit in they raps but in real life they pussy!! This shit really is for entertainment!!”
Not long after Cardi’s post, Minaj uploaded a photo of herself in her fashion finery on Instagram.
Christina Aguilera was also present at Harper’s Bazaar’s NYFW event. The Liberation singer performed several of her hits at the party, including, fittingly enough, “Fighter.”
Earlier on Friday, Cardi B watched her husband Offset walk the runway in Jeremy Scott’s NYFW show. The two share a child, Kulture, together, and secretly married last September.
