Cardi B has come an inspirationally long way since her stripping days. The rapper’s debut album Invasion of Privacy only dropped on Friday, but she already has four top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 to her name, including the infectious banger “Bodak Yellow” that spent three weeks at No. 1 in October.
With all that success comes an influx of questions from the public. While Cardi is already surprisingly active with fans on Twitter, she created a few undercover social media profiles for GQ’s video series “Actually Me,” in which celebrities use special accounts on various websites to answer fans’ most burning questions.
“Cardi B doesn’t act human,” read the first comment from a Twitter user. “She’s like some alien from the future here to show us how it’s gon be.”
“I’m very human, like…,” Cardi responded. “I’m a very emotional person. I want the same things you want, motherfucker.”
Cardi addressed hot topics, like her relationship with fiance Offset’s posse Migos, the funny noises she interjects between sentences, how her occupation switched from grocery store employee to stripper and the spell-like sound of her birth name, Belcalis Almanzar.
“I like my name,” Cardi explained. “It’s weird and it’s unique, and my dad made it up, so that’s cool.”
Although Cardi “doesn’t care much about” whether she’s dubbed Queen of Rap, her schedule keeps her on her toes: “If I’m not in ‘go go go time,’ I’m in ‘sleep sleep sleep mode.'”
