After Cardi B seemed to be taken back by Offset’s awkward apology during her headlining Rolling Loud (Dec. 15) set, Cardi’s fanbase began looking around for who could’ve been responsible. Some even took aim at Cardi’s publicist, Patientce, for allowing that to happen, even if the 26-year-old herself didn’t know what was about to take place.
Shortly after the performance Sunday (Dec. 16), the Atlantic Records signee hopped on Instagram to defend those closest to her. “Fan or not, you talk about my publicist/friend you can eat a dick PERIOD,” she wrote in a message posted to her Instagram Story. Cardi then connected with fans on Instagram live to continually address the buzzworthy situation, which also resulted in a series of video posts asking fans to ease up on Kulture’s father.
“I don’t like people talking shit about my publicist, that’s like my sister. Same way I would ride for my little sister, I’d ride for anyone that’s around me,” Cardi asserted. “Especially at this point in life where everyone wants to use me. I cherish my days ones and love them and it’s always gonna be like that.”
Meanwhile, Rolling Loud co-founder Tariq Cherif released a statement to the Los Angeles Times, claiming that members of Cardi’s management team were in on Set’s stunt.
“We were told she was going to have a guest star during her set, that it was going to be Migos, but we didn’t know anything about that stunt,” said Cherif. “We’re getting blamed as if we conspired to do this, and I just want to make it clear that we did not. Cardi’s management was in on it, it had nothing to do with the festival. The artist is in full control of the stage and they determine who gets on and off.”
