“Grew up with Big L and the dude who supposedly killed him,” Cam raps on the Instarek-produced beat in the first installment of the two-part clip. “A week before that, though, Big L had tried to kill him/ What was he to do?/ Please don’t get in ya feelings/When the time’s right, I will tell you about these villains/ Now everybody dead, so it ain’t about squealing.”
In 1999, Big L (real name Lamont Coleman) was fatally gunned down a few blocks from his Harlem home at the age of 24. According to the New York Daily News, Big L’s accused killer, Gerard Woodley, 46, was reportedly killed last month in Harlem.
Cam’ron and Big L were members of the 1990s hip-hop collective, Children of the Corn, alongside fellow Harlemites Mase, McGruff and Bloodshed.
Earlier this month, Cam’ron released “Oh Yeah,” a collaboration with fellow Diplomat Juelz Santana.
