“18 and I’m gettin’ it,” repeats singer Brenda Mada throughout her latest anthem “House Party.” Def Jam’s latest signee confidently lets audiences know that she’s already making some ground, and she’s just getting started.
“‘House Party’ symbolizes freedom to have fun,” the Belgian songstress says of the song in a statement to Billboard. “My coming of age and everything that will play a part of that: my life, my friends, my relationships, love, empowerment, and ultimately the message that I want to convey to the world.”
Beginning with a rhythmic pattern of drums, “House Party” delivers on what the song’s title suggests. The pop R&B& track features Mada’s playful sass on top of a jazzy soundscape. The smooth cut is bound to be added to summer playlists.
