Big Sean returned with another banger in “Single Again” on Friday (July 26).
Throughout his career, Sean has been in and out of highly-publicized relationships with Aiko, Ariana Grande, and Naya Rivera, to name a few. After spending some time away from music to reconnect with his soul, Big Sean says we’re dealing with a totally new, leveled-up version of himself.
“Instead of blaming all my old girls when I leave (What?)/ Instead of calling up these fake hoes that I don’t need (What?)/ Old relationships turn to new déjà vus/ Got me feeling like “I don’t fuck with you”/ Oh nah, nah, that’s the old me (Old)/ You fucking with the new me,” he raps.
The 31-year-old continued to detail how important it was to find solace in the relationship with himself, rather than significant others. “I never knew that I didn’t know how to be alone in life. I always would find so much joy n happiness in a relationship or being with friends, but I didn’t know how important it was to be in a relationship with yourself,” Sean wrote to Twitter.
