Besides being a basketball savant, LeBron James is a die-hard hip-hop head. Because of his majestic abilities on the court and his superstar status, King James has always received the royal treatment, especially from rappers. Big Sean and Metro Boomin are the latest hip-hop stars to give James something special, giving him an early listen of the duo’s Double or Nothing album — and on Weds (Dec. 6), the Cavaliers star shared the love with fans by previewing several snippets on Instagram.
After playing Sean and Metro’s first single “Pull Up N Wreck,” James dived deep into the album and played unreleased cuts. One clip captioned, “Sure feels good to be Black in the Back (bach) #doubleentrendre” finds Sean gloating about his success as an African American. The second clip titled “Savage Season” finds the Detroit MC skating through the trap-laden beat crafted by Metro.
This isn’t the first that James has teased unreleased cuts from hip-hop artists. Earlier this year, he played new music by Nipsey Hussle and Meek Mill, while also feeding fans snippets from Kendrick Lamar’s Billboard 200 chart-topping album DAMN.
As for Double or Nothing, the project is slated to be released Friday (Dec. 8). Preview some of the tracks below, courtesy of LeBron James.
