With one listen of “Hall of Fame,” it’s apparent that Big Sean, taking the reigns of his career, has curated an album where he’s at his best.
“I just wanted to make something that was a piece to the bigger puzzle of me as an artist. There’s not too many people from Detroit who have the platform to be heard. A lot of the issues I touched on, a lot of things I touched on were representation of Detroit and just where we are as people and economically,” Big Sean says of the album. “And of course losing people and losing relationships that were close to me.”
“Hall of Fame” is bolstered by moments of sincerity and self-awareness, delivered both comically (“M.I.L.F.,” “Mona Lisa”) and with much emotion (“World Ablaze,” “Ashley”). Check out Big Sean break down the 15-track effort, track by track.
