On Thursday night, Bhad Bhabie stopped by the Billie Eilish Experience, a pop-up event in conjunction with Spotify that takes visitors on an immersive journey through each of the songs on Eilish’s just-released debut album, When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?
Speaking with Billboard’s Chelsea Briggs on the red carpet, the “Gucci Flip Flops” rapper spoke about her friendship with Eilish, whether fans can ever expect a collaboration between the two of them, and her beef with Iggy Azalea.
Asked why she supports Eilish and what she likes about her, Bhad Bhabie tells Billboard, “She’s got an amazing voice. Her voice is really one of a kind. But I love her as a person ’cause she’s just so real. I just love her so much. I feel like I can be real around her. She’s not gonna judge me.”
She also opens up about how the two first met one another, explaining that they had been DMing and texting each other, and on the day they finally met up in person, their mutual friend XXXTentacion died.
“We linked up. We were like all right, well, we both just lost him,” she recalls. “We just sat and listened to his music all day and cried. We did go to Wingstop, though, I remember that.”
When asked whether she and Eilish might collaborate someday, Bhad Bhabie says, “I’m sure we will eventually, it’s just when the time is right.”
In the interview, Bhad Bhabie also weighs in on her beef with Iggy Azalea and the rumors that Azalea’s latest music video “Sally Walker” is throwing shade at her.
“I haven’t even seen it, so I don’t know,” she replies. “I feel like if she is, for someone who’s ‘so unbothered,’ you seem pretty bothered…I left this shit alone…What type of fifth-grade shit is we doing out here? Come on. You’re grown, right? Leave me the fuck alone!”
