Beyoncé and JAY-Z kick off their On The Run II Tour next week, so Billboard decided to celebrate the couple’s joint jaunt by hitting the streets to find out how well people know the lyrics to some of Jay and Bey’s biggest hit songs.
Host Taylor Ortega quizzes a few participants on the lyrics to “Drunk In Love,” first asking them what follows the line “We woke up in the kitchen saying…” The accurate lyrics are, of course, “How the hell did this shit happen?’” – but responses range from “Let’s make out” to “We need more strawberries.”
Another line from that song spawns some equally hilarious replies, as people try to finish the line “Then I fill the tub up halfway / Then ride with my…” While Beyoncé actually sings “surfboard,” some suggestions include “horseback riding gear” and – for some reason – “grandmother.”
Moving on to “’03 Bonnie & Clyde,” there are some colorful answers provided when given the line “All I need in this life of sin is me and my…” Instead of guessing “girlfriend,” responses include “gin and juice” and “me and you and this pin.”
Finally, Ortega puts people to the test with “Crazy In Love,” prompting them with the lyric, “When I talk to my friends so quietly / ‘Who he think he is?’” Queen Bey savants will know that this lyric finishes with “Look at what you did to me,” but frankly, one of the replies might be better than the original words the song features: “Something, something, Blake Lively.”
Think you can do a better job at finishing Beyoncé and JAY-Z lyrics? Do you think that “Crazy In Love” is actually about Blake Lively? Give the challenge a try in the video above.
