Buffalo rapper Benny the Butcher appears to be on the mend after reportedly being shot in the leg in Houston on Saturday (Nov. 14) during an attempted robbery in a Walmart parking lot.
Via KHOU 11, police said Butcher (born Jeremie Pennick), 35, and two other people were in the parking lot around 4:30 p.m. when five men in ski masks approached them and demanded their jewelry.
According to police, as Pennick was getting out of his Rolls Royce, the men demanded the jewelry and as Pennick sprinted away the unidentified suspects allegedly opened fire, hitting him in the leg once.
The two other people with Pennick at the time were reportedly not injured.
Pennick then posted a video on his Instagram Stories on Monday morning (Nov. 16). In the clip, he can be seen hobbling on crutches up the steps of a private plane.
Spokespeople for Pennick and the Houston Police Department had not returned a request for comment at press time.
The shooting comes a week after Dallas rapper Mo3 was shot and killed in a daylight attack in the city and just one day after fellow rapper Boosie Badazz was reportedly shot in the leg in Houston.
