Baby Bash’s 2003 hit “Suga Suga,” featuring Frankie J, peaked at No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 in December 2003. Recently, the hip-hop & R&B artists visited the Billboard studios for a Chart Rewind interview, where they reminisced about the good old times and revealed that they actually got sued by UPS because the woman dressed up in a delivery uniform displayed a little bit too much butt cheek in the music video.
The duo, who both believe the video is super “cheesy,” stayed on the Hot 100 for 33 consecutive weeks. They recalled the magnitude of the song’s popularity, revealing that it still makes them proud to hear the tune to this day.
“It was on the radio and then people would call me and say, ‘Your song is on the radio’ — every five minutes,” Baby Bash admitted. “And I was like, ‘Oh my God! I can’t believe it!’ Then it got to a point where like, ‘Man, are they going to play it out too much? Is it going to burn out?’ It never burned out.”
