Azealia Banks has navigated her way into another Twitter feud, this time with the LGBT community which she has described as “like the gay white KKK.”
The Harlem rapper’s comments have predictably sparked outrage and earned messages of support. And in one notable stoush, she engaged in a spat with British soap actress Alison Newman, Gay Star News reports.

It all kicked off with a now-deleted tweet Banks shared on Sunday (Sept. 27): “LGBT community are like the gay white KKK’s. Get some pink hoods and unicorns and rally down rodeo drive.” The message was captured by various blogs and can be seen below.

Banks has since made it clear she won’t be backing down. “If I am to be a part of an LGBT community I want to be in it with people who aren’t so weak or so easily moved ya know,” she wrote in one tweet.
It’s certainly not the first time Banks has caught the ire of the LGBT community. A video went viral last week in which Banks directed a homophobic slur toward a flight attendant on a plane, igniting a wave of protest… and support. She then pressed the button on a succession of anti-gay Instagram rants which have also been deleted, notes the Pink News.

Banks took to Instagram earlier this year to rail against the double standards she felt apply to the words people use to talk about women and gay men.

I’m not a weak bitch, being called a dyke or a nigger does absolutely nothing to move me.

So yes! You CAN call me a nigger and I won’t get mad! …. I’d be like “That’s all you got???”
