Since the release of A$AP Mob’s Cozy Tapes Vol. 2 last August, A$AP Rocky has been meticulously plotting his third album. After liberating new songs such as “5ive $tar$” and “Money Bags Freestyle,” Rocky continues his onslaught with his latest record “Bad Company” featuring Memphis upstart, Blocboy JB.
From the onset, Rocky brings fans into his paranoia and issues with rap beefs: “I got so much beef, I could barely sleep / Paranoia got me losin’ all my Z’s, all day.” Then, Rocky continues to steamroll his adversaries with staggering blows, rapping, “When I say I got beef, they don’t want no beef / When they say they got beef, they don’t wanna eat.”
Earlier this month, Rocky wiped his Instagram account clean and began leaving cryptic messages, suggesting that a new project is on the way. In an interview with GQ last October, he offered some insight behind his new music.
“My new album is really about testing new sounds,” he said. “People are scared to test new sounds, so they go with what’s current ’cause it’s the easy thing to do. The top 100 songs sound a certain way. People cater more to that because it’s a bigger demographic behind that, or it’s a guaranteed demographic behind that. I prefer to experiment and have my crowd grow with me and to reach new crowds.”
