Fans went crazy this morning after Harlem rapper A$AP Ferg dropped the highly anticipated “Plain Jane” remix, featuring the Barbie Queen Nicki Minaj.
Nicki Minaj brought back that hard rap we’ve been missing her from her for years, paying homage to her New York roots and local legend Notorious B.I.G. “Ride with Minaj, Mmmmashallah. Check in with me, then do ya job. Queen is the name, Rafeallo did the chain,” she raps on the hook, before spitting “I go hard in the booth/ Biggie vibes, gimme the loot.”
She also name-drops a few actresses, such as Catherine Zeta-Jones, and tributes Lupita Nyong’o for rocking her natural hair. “All these bitches rockin’ inches cuz they followin’ the leader. I should switch it up on hoes and rock a Afro like Lupita’s.”
“Plain Jane” was released over the summer as the lead single from A$AP Ferg’s sophomore album Still Striving. The original version, inspired by the Three Six Mafia’s “Slob On My Knob,” is his third Billboard Hot 100 hit as a lead artist, following “New Level” and “Work.”

I love how Nicki Minaj always brings that femininity to a record, that’s what a female rapper is suppose to do. Wordplay, Bars.. while sounding and embodying a FEMALE. #PlainJaneREMIX

Although @NICKIMINAJ always does a “all these bitches is my sons” reference in every song. I’m always blown away, how she’s able to come up with a different way to say it. #PlainJaneRemix
