J.I.D. tapped pal Ansel Elgort to star in a video for his latest single “Off Da Zoinkys.”
In the clip, which was released Wednesday, the Hollywood heartthrob dances around a kitchen in an homage to the opening scene of the 1973 film The Long Goodbye. After feeding an orange tabby cat, just like Elliott Gould’s character in the classic thriller, the camera pans to Elgort staring out a window at the balcony next door, where J.I.D. is hosting a party surrounded by a group of scantily clad models.
Lyrically, the Atlanta rapper delivers the song in near-breathless, rapid-fire succession over a sample of the 1976 gospel track “I’m So Grateful (Keep in Touch)” by The Crowns of Glory.
“Off Da Zoinkys” is featured on J.I.D.’s acclaimed 2018 concept album DiCaprio 2. Watch the Scott Lazer-directed video below.
