On the heels of notching his first Grammy win, Anderson .Paak is returning less than five months after his Oxnard album with another full-length project in Ventura, the California native announced on Wednesday (Feb. 27). With another album on tap, Paak will also hit the road with an array of talented guests on the Best Teef in the Game Tour.
Ventura is currently slotted to be released on April 12. “Growing up in Oxnard gave me the grit and the church to find this voice of mine. One town over I went further and found my depth,” he said, explaining that both albums were crafted at the same time, but he ultimately decided to keep this project in the stash temporarily.
“The duality of each place inspired me greatly and from that I made two albums at the exact same time but held one back because that would have been too many songs to perform live for you all! I like ending things on an even number so welcome to Ventura.”
The Best Teef in the Game Tour kicks off in Nashville on May 17. Tickets will go on sale to the general public starting on March 8 at 10 a.m. local venue time over on the Live Nation website. Thundercat, Earl Sweatshirt, The Free Nationals, NoName, Mac DeMarco and the emerging Jessie Reyez will all perform at various points as supporting acts to bolster the upcoming North American trek.
