With Anderson .Paak gearing up for the release of his highly anticipated Oxnard album later this year, the Aftermath Entertainment artist shared on Instagram Sunday (Sept. 23) that he has a Kendrick Lamar collaboration on the way. Anderson announced that the upcoming single is slated to release next Thursday (Oct. 4).
It’s unknown if a visual to the track has been shot, but the post’s accompanying photo finds .Paak and Kung Fu Kenny possibly hanging out on the set of a video shoot.
Last week, Dr. Dre unveiled that he had finished mixing Oxnard with a celebratory Instagram photo alongside the “Bubblin” artist: “Just finished mixing the album. It’s a celebration bitches.”
Anderson believes this project is the culmination of embracing the albums that helped shape his music interests growing up. “This is the album I dreamed of making in high school when I was listening to [Jay-Z]’s The Blueprint, The Game’s The Documentary, and [Kanye West’s] The College Dropout,” he told Rolling Stone.
