ALLBLACK looks to continue to build on the buzz he’s created out in the Bay Area. Billboard has learned that the East Oakland native is teaming up with beat maestro Kenny Beats, who made his noteworthy return to the hip-hop realm over the summer, for a joint project titled 2 Minute Drills. The duo kicks off the effort on Thursday (Oct. 18) with the “John Madden 2” visual.
They say Gatorade is the usual drink of champions, but instead of the electrolyte-replenishing beverage, ALLBLACK substitutes bottles and jugs of Hennessey for his team to refuel. The “John Madden 2” clip finds the Outcalls rapper and Kenny Beats running a practice for their football team known as the Play Runners, trying to get everything straightened out prior to hitting the field for game time.
“If I can’t run that shit, I’m gonna pass it/Fuck being humble, I’ll run the score up on you bastards/4th and long we don’t punt, We got cannons/I’m a vet at running players, John Madden,” ALLBLACK rhymes from the bleachers.
2 Minute Drills drops Nov. 16 and you can pre-order the project here. For now, watch the “John Madden 2” video below.
