Nobody likes to be left on read. A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie teams with Lil Uzi Vert to express their longing for a deep connection with their lovers on “Reply,” which hit streaming services Friday (Nov. 15). The somber track serves as the second single from Boogie’s forthcoming Artist 2.0 album.
“If I write you, girl, will you reply?/ Follow?my?commands, come on,?girl, comply/ You only want me ’cause?my life’s televised/ And I can see all them lies in your eyes,” Uzi intones on the opening chorus.
The Bronx native then continues the theme by closing out the track with a sultry verse of his own. “I’m gon’ f— you to this, make this one your favorite song/ And you even look sexy with no makeup on/ And you ain’t gotta ask me, girl, just take it off/ I knew that you was nasty the way you take it raw/ I just hope that you don’t think I’m crazy, girl,” Boogie raps.
Earlier in November, the “Drowning” artist teased that his upcoming project could be his last for a while, as he has other things in life he’d like to conquer. “I want to take a break from music after Artist 2.0 tour is over,” he wrote on IG. “There’s a lot of things I wanna do in life and it’s moving too fast for me to focus on everything at once.”
