It’s been nearly two years since 6LACK unleashed his stellar debut album Free 6LACK, and while he’s doled out a few loose releases in the time since, 6LACK is finally ready to liberate his sophomore album.
6LACK teased on Wednesday night (June 20) that his album is complete, and shared a snippet of a new song called “Switch,” which premiered on Joe Budden’s podcast yesterday (June 20) and is set to officially debut this Friday (June 22).
In the nearly minute-long video posted to his socials, 6LACK is seated in a car smoking, as his honeyed warble pours over thick drums and a breezy melody. “Tell me lies, tell me lies, tell me lies/You and I, ride or die you and I/ Entertain these other b—-es? You know not/Entertain these other n—-s?You know that/If I gave you my heart, will you hold that?/Would you put it on safe or will you fold that?”
6LACK simply captioned the video “friday.” The “Cutting Ties” singer is currently on Chris Brown‘s Heartbreak on a Full Moon Tour, alongside H.E.R, Rich The Kid, and Jacquees. The Heartbreak on a Full Moon Tour will touch down in Concord, Calif. tonight (June 21) before hitting Phoenix, Ariz. on Sunday.
Below, listen to a preview of 6LACK’s new song “Switch” before it arrives in full on Friday.
