Despite being bogged down by his troubling legal woes, on Tuesday (Nov. 27), 6ix9ine released his anticipated album, Dummy Boy, on streaming services.
The 13-track offering finds the mercurial star connecting with Nicki Minaj, Kanye West, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, Tory Lanez and more. The project also includes previously released records such as the Bobby Shmurda-assisted “STOOPID” and his club scorcher “FEFE,” which peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Earlier Tuesday, DJ Akademiks revealed on Twitter that it was 6ix9ine’s decision to release Dummy Boy and that he loves and misses his fans. “Tekashi 6ix9ine album ‘DUMMY BOY’ will be officially released in a few hours to all major outlets,” began Akademiks on Twitter. “This is the decision of Tekashi himself who despite being disappointed about its leak & his current situation wants his fans to enjoy his music. He says he loves and misses his fans.”
Last week, 6ix9ine’s reps revealed that Dummy Boy, which was originally slated for a Nov. 23 release, was postponed due to his incarceration. “Due to circumstances beyond our control we have postponed the release of Tekashi 6ix9ine’s Dummy Boy until further notice,” the post read.
Earlier this month, 6ix9ine was arrested by ATF and Homeland Security agents on six counts of various racketeering, firearms, assault with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy murder charges. On Monday, he pleaded not guilty to the charges and will face trial in September 2019.
