On the heels of firing his entire management team and canceling a North American tour, 6ix9ine and two of his former associates were arrested Sunday night (Nov. 18) on racketeering and firearms charges by federal ATF special agents in New York City, the NYPD tells Billboard.
In a statement to Billboard, NYPD noted that 6ix9ine “was arrested last night and will be arraigned today in the Southern District of NY.”
A TMZ report states that jail is almost a certainty for the Brooklyn rapper, who was already on strict probation after emerging from his 2015 child sexual abuse case with no time behind bars. The “Gummo” artist was taken into federal custody with two others that TMZ has pegged as ex-manager Shottie and former bodyguard Faheem Walter. Walter, who goes by Crippy, was actually the individual that got shot at an NYC restaurant back in October following a dispute between Tekashi’s entourage and a 10k Projects executive.
Mere hours prior to the arrest, the 22-year-old shared the loaded track list to his anticipated Dummy Boy project on Sunday (Nov. 18), which is slated to drop on Friday (Nov. 23). The star-studded effort will see features from Nicki Minaj, Kanye West, A Boogie, Tory Lanez, Gunna, Bobby Shmurda, plus more.
Billboard has reached out to 6ix9ine’s ex-reps for more information.
