It’s not every day you see veteran actor Anthony Anderson in a hip-hop music video, but that’s exactly what 24hrs accomplished. The artist formerly known as Royce Rizzy takes advantage of house sitting Anderson’s mansion as part of the “Back Out” visual featuring frequent collaborator Ty Dolla $ign and fellow California native Dom Kennedy, premiering with Billboard on Wednesday (July 24).
Anderson lays out a few ground rules to kick off the clip that include no using the Jacuzzi, feeding his goldfish, staying out of the master bedroom, and absolutely no parties at the crib. Seconds after agreeing to the guidelines, the Private Club Records boss is shown letting a conga line of women through the front door with a mischievous smirk on his face.
With the party in full tilt, Anderson Facetimes Twenty and is appalled at the scene going on at his home. “Who the hell is that in my pool? Why is my goldfish swimming in my pool? Man, chlorine is gonna kill my damn fish,” the Black-ish star angrily rants before being hung up on. An unfazed 24hrs then gets right back to the wild party raging behind him.
“This was a fun video to shoot. I was trying to make them girls move with this video & record,” 24 tells Billboard via e-mail. “The single alone got a lot of positive feedback, so it was only right to follow with a video. I wanted to keep it light but also funny. Calling in Anthony Anderson to do his thing with the skit, and having Ty and Dom jumping on board — it was the perfect mix of great hip-hop and R&B.”
