2 Chainz linked up with the venerable Dr. Dre over the Jan. 26 weekend, checking off a bucket list item.
Chainz received an invite to Dr. Dre‘s estate, where he met the West Coast legend for the first time in his career. The pair got to work in Dre’s state-of-the-art California studio, and a few special guests joined them over the course of the session.
The epic cookup saw appearances from Oxnard‘s Anderson .Paak and ATL-bred producer Honorable C-Note. Members of Dre’s dream team of collaborators were also in attendance, with Mark Byrd, King Mez, and Sly Pyper all making cameos. Xzibit even popped up on Dre and company, as the former Pimp My Ride host posted a photo of him caught knocked asleep in the studio.
Chainz took to his Instagram story to explain that he played Dr. Dre his Rap or Go to the League album, but admitted the duo “got some work done.” It remains to be seen if the Atlanta veteran will add any of what was created over the weekend to his highly anticipated project, which is slated to release at some point early in the new year. The 41-year-old closed out 2018 with his spicy Hot Wings Are A Girl’s Best Friend EP.
