Despite a few hindrances, 2 Chainz‘s once-elusive Pretty Girls Like Trap Music album will arrive June 16. To fuel the release of his new project, Chainz liberated a brand-new trailer featuring Drake, Pharrell, Mike Dean and more.
The three-minute-long trailer includes clips of the “Good Drank” star working in the studio, performing live in concert and also receiving gems from some of music’s most renowned stars. Interestingly enough, at one point in the trailer, Drake conveys his admiration for his frequent collaborator while together in the studio. “You’re, like, one of my favorite rappers of all time and sh–. I gotta say that,” Drake tells Chainz.
In 2016, 2 Chainz was feverishly releasing projects. Not only did he release a collaborative album with Lil Wayne titled Collegrove, he also dropped three mixtapes including Felt Like Cappin’, Daniel Son; Necklace Don and Hibachi for Lunch. This year, the prolific star continued to whisk away and drop more songs, most notably the album’s singles “Good Drank” featuring Gucci Mane and Quavo and “It’s a Vibe” featuring Trey Songz, Ty Dolla $ign and Jhene Aiko.
Chainz’s hot streak was instantly cooled down when Def Jam pushed the album back last March. After hearing the news, he fired away shots at his label via Instagram. “F— it I’m done preaching, it’s the hairweavekiller himself, chapoJR, Tityboi, #drenchGOD #prettygirlsliketrapmusic coming soon, ain’t no date bihhhh. @defjamrecords wudup.”
