Last October, 2 Chainz cooked up a storm with his mixtape Hibachi for Lunch. Now, the 39-year-old rapper is preparing for the release of his new project, Pretty Girls Like Trap Music. On Sunday, Chainz revealed the news on Instagram that his new endeavor will be out April 7.
In addition to announcing his project, the “No Lie” rapper posted a photo of him and Drake working together in the studio. The last time the pair teamed up for a record was on 2 Chainz’s “Big Amount” last year.
Besides crafting new material for Pretty Girls Like Trap Music, Chainz revealed in an Instagram post over the weekend that President-elect Donald Trump requested his presence at his inauguration. The Atlanta rapper explained how hurt he was over the fact that he never had an opportunity to hang out with President Obama during his tenure in the White House.
“I wanted to go to the White House,” he says in the video. “I never got invited. I seen all them beautiful pics of everybody going to all these parties. I just wanted to say what’s up to Barack. We all came from a troubled past, but I seen him give people some really big chances. But anyway it didn’t happen, and I’m cool with that.”
Chainz then explained how Trump extended the invite to him for his inauguration. “But then Trump calls management,” Chainz continued, “and I know they only doing this ’cause they can’t get nobody else. They want me to perform for the inauguration. I had to say, ‘Nah.’ No matter how much money it was. I probably won’t be going to the White House no time soon.”
