After having LeBron James serve as the A&R to his Rap Or Go to the League album, 2 Chainz made sure he was in the building to witness the King make history Wednesday night (March 6).
During the second quarter of the Lakers matchup with the Nuggets at the Staples Center, James passed Michael Jordan for fourth all-time on the NBA’s regular season scoring list.
“Can’t even front. This is going to be UNREAL!! Wow man,” LeBron wrote pre-game. He was noticeably overwhelmed with emotion he passed his idol during the second quarter. Following a valiant comeback effort, the Lakers eventually fell to the Nuggets by a score of 115 to 99, even though LeBron led the team with 31 points.
Once the game came to a close, Chainz got up from his courtside seat next to the Laker bench and congratulated James on his major accomplishment. The ATL native then took off one of the many chains on his neck and placed it in Bron’s hands, as the good friends embraced for a final time.
