How do you make a great song even greater? Add a voice like Zayn‘s. So that’s exactly what Shaed did.
The alt-pop group recruited Zayn for a new version of their hit “Trampoline,” which they unveiled on Thursday (Sept. 25). The remix doesn’t lose the magic of the song’s haunting, echoing melody — in fact, Zayn’s sultry tone actually amplifies it.
Shaed’s frontwoman Chelsea Lee and Zayn trade off verses and harmonize with each other throughout the song, with Zayn adding some of his trademark (and super dreamy) runs on the song’s bridge. While the Zayn-Shaed pairing may seem a bit random on paper, just one listen makes you realize it’s actually a match made in heaven.
Along with the song, Shaed and Zayn also unveiled a lyric video for their “Trampoline” remix. The black-and-white visual is a trippy, kaleidoscopic experience that sees animated versions of Zayn and the three Shaed members (Lee and twin brothers Max and Spencer Ernst) adding yet another awe-inspiring layer to the song.
