After Gigi Hadid faced backlash for a video her sister posted on Snapchat last weekend, Zayn defended his girlfriend Monday night with a single tweet.
In the video — which Bella Hadid has since deleted but is still being shared around Twitter — Gigi holds a Buddha-shaped cookie up to her face, squints her eyes, and smiles. Twitter users decried the video as being racist against Asians and singled out Zayn’s Southwest-Asian heritage.
