Welcome back to Takeover Tuesday, where each week, Billboard taps chart-topping artists and tastemakers to compile their very own playlist exclusive to Billboard‘s Spotify account. We give the artists free rein to base the list on whatever subject they choose. The only rule? Make it as creative and unique to them as possible.
Wesley Stromberg is playing shows around the world this year on his solo headlining trek The Alive Tour. The 25-year-old singer-songwriter — who fans may recognize from pop trio Emblem3 — has performed in Rio de Janeiro, Los Angeles and New York and will soon hit Toronto, Lisbon, London, Barcelona and Buenos Aires.
Before he takes the stage, Wesley puts on some tunes for fans to enjoy during meet-and-greets. So for his Takeover Tuesday turn, Wesley is sharing his current pre-show playlist with fans, which he calls “a collective of new music I’m feeling, some of my friends’ music, and a few personal favorites from back in the day that just always put me in a good mood.”
The 15-song playlist starts and ends with two of Wesley’s 2019 releases: his summer anthem “Yaya” and the thumping tune “Tunnel Vision.” In between, Wesley shouts out some of the latest hits from Drake, Billie Eilish and Bazzi, as well as a few early 2000s jams from 311, Pepper and Slightly Stoopid.
Check out Wesley’s pre-show playlist, as well as a little insight into his picks below.
