Tinashe put on a dark, alluring performance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Thursday night (Apr. 12), bringing some serious attitude to her club-banger “No Drama.” Although the lyrics repeatedly insist “don’t want no drama,” her mystifying set brought ironically high levels of drama.
Tinashe owned the stage with sass and confidence, decked out in a strappy black vinyl outfit, her hair slicked back underneath a giant black floppy hat that mostly obscured her face at first. Peeking up from underneath the brim of her lid, Tinashe’s glittery eyeshadow caught the lights as she worked the stage alongside four male dancers in matching black vinyl overcoats. Soon enough, she threw the hat offstage Frisbee-style as the fiery dance moves kicked into high gear and the background dancers spun their jellyfish-like umbrellas.
Just in time for his verse, Migos member Offset waltzed out to cheers from the audience, sporting his classic glitzy oversized nameplate necklace for his verse. “No Drama” is the first single from Tinashe’s third studio album, Joyride, out Friday (Apr. 13).
