Just as the dust began to settle around the seemingly never-ending saga of the infamous Beyonce Biter, witness Tiffany Haddish has at long last revealed their identity in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter Wednesday (June 13), and it’s a name that came up during much of the investigation.
The Beyhive was buzzing back in March when Haddish recalled an unbelievable story to GQ: at a private party a few months prior, the Girls Trip star caught sight of a scuffle in which a previously anonymous actress allegedly bit Beyonce’s face. Lena Dunham, Sanaa Lathan and Sara Foster were just a few of the actresses accused of “doing the mostest” during the ill-fated evening. Although they all publicly shot down the rumors, it appears Lathan was the chomper all along.
“I’m super good friends with [Lathan’s] stepmom and her dad, and they were mad at me,” Haddish told THR. “They were like, ‘Why would you do this to the family? You know, black actresses, you guys have to stick together, it’s so hard for you guys to get work as it is, why would you try to ruin her career?’ But I didn’t try to ruin her career. I never said her name! I was just trying to say how Beyonce kept me from goin’ to jail that night. I coulda just shut my whole career down.”
Lathan, of Love & Basketball fame, swiftly denied accusations after they surfaced with a tweet that claimed if she was in fact the teethy culprit, “it would’ve been a love bite.”
While Haddish’s retelling didn’t exactly seem so friendly, perhaps knowing the biter’s identity will take a load off the shoulders of the Beyhive. Case closed.
Y’all are funny. Under no circumstances did I bite Beyonce and if I did it would’ve been a love bite —
