The Resistance Revival Chorus made headlines at the Grammy Awards Sunday (Jan. 28), backing Kesha in her heart wrenching performance of “Praying.”
The group has now released their first recording, a cover of Lesley Gore’s feminist anthem “You Don’t Own Me.” The song comes appropriately on the one year anniversary of the Women’s March.
The Resistance Revival Chorus, a collective of more than 50 women, originated in summer 2017 in response to frustration over the Trump presidency. The group aims to raise awareness for major women’s rights movements such as #MeToo and #TimesUp, and encourage fans to donate and rise up against oppression.
