When it was announced that The Lonely Island would headline Comedy Central and Superfly’s Clusterfest in San Francisco this upcoming weekend (June 1-3), anticipation grew as to what the group was going to serve up at their debut festival performance. To prepare for the weekend, the trio performed at the Clusterfest warm-up show at the Canyon at the Rose in Pasadena, California, on Saturday (May 27), calling it their “first ever warm-up show” for their “first ever concert.”
What ensued appeared to be insanity, as videos from the performance show Jorma Taccone dressed up and performing a new song as football Hall of Famer Joe Montana, while Andy Samberg and Akiva Schaffer busted out a sports-themed rap clad in Oakland A’s baseball uniforms as Jose Canseco and Mark McGwire. The trio who made their mark with outlandish viral music videos on Saturday Night Live later did a wardrobe change and returned in turquoise turtle-necks to perform their classic anthem “Jizz In My Pants,” as well as other beloved tracks including “I’m On a Boat” an “I Just Had Sex.”
