Chelsea Davenport and Felix Snow have built successful careers on their own, but the pair are beginning a new musical venture for the new year. Introducing The Bliss, a hook-driven pop duo making their Atlantic Records debut today (Jan. 25) with “Got The Love.”
The bright single combines Davenport’s and Snow’s individual backgrounds, with dreamy vocals and roaring production. Chelsea recalls that the song poured out of her after Felix — who has produced tracks for SZA (“No Lies”) and Kiara (“Gold”), also co-founding electronic project Terror Jr — created a sound that matched exactly how she was feeling.
“I was trying to write about how even though you care about someone in the beginning stages of a relationship, you might still hold on to things that hurt you in the past,” she said in a statement. “To me, the song is about letting go of all your past loves and allowing a new thing to happen.”
That idea is similar to what happened to create The Bliss, as Chelsea had also previously seen her own success (after coincidentally being discovered by Felix) as buzzy electropop artist TYSM. And along with launching their joint project, the two are even embodying the title of their debut single, as they “Got The Love” for each other: Chelsea and Felix are a real-life couple.
Expect much more to come from The Bliss this year, but start by watching “Got The Love,” premiering on Billboard below.
