
The 1975 released “Sincerity Is Scary” back on Setp. 13, and on Wednesday (Nov. 21), the group released a charming music video for the upbeat song. The track will appear on their upcoming album, A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships, set to release on Nov. 30.
The video starts with lead singer Matthew Healy rolling out of bed in the morning. He heads outside, dancing down a busy but colorful street as he greets passersby and spreads kindness. As he dances around like he’s in an old musical, he meets another dancer, a choir, a marching band and a young mime. At one point, he even saves a man from being crushed by a falling piano as the chorus chimes in with the line “Why can’t we be friends?”
Healy ends up in front of a theater, as the sky behind him fades into a sunset and gives the video a nice rosy hue. The ending fades out with a soothing jazzy melody of brass instruments as the camera pans up to the pink sky. Check out the music video below.
