Taylor Swift started off as a girl with a guitar — and for a few songs last night, she returned to her roots during an intimate, acoustic performance for 100 of her fans in Australia’s Hamilton Island.
As part of a series organized by radio station Nova 96.9, Swift took the small stage alone to perform “Out of the Woods,” “Wildest Dreams,” “Shake It Off,” and “Blank Space,” accompanying herself on guitar and piano for the reverent crowd. Of writing “Wildest Dreams,” she told them that it happened at a moment when she “had a very fatalist idea of love.”
“I was like, ‘Love just ends, it’s not a questions of will we break, it’s when will we break up’…it was one of those days. But you know it got a good song out of it!”
