Halsey, Selena Gomez, Camila Cabello, Gigi Hadid and more celebrities rushed to support Taylor Swift on Friday (Nov. 15) in the wake of her statement against Scooter Braun and Scott Borchetta.
“This is just mean. This is punishment. This is hoping to silence her from speaking about things by dangling this over her head,” Halsey wrote on her Instagram Story, referring to Swift’s allegation that the two men, who own the masters to her back catalog of music, are refusing to allow her to use her old hits in her upcoming artist of the decade performance at the American Music Awards. (Braun and Borchetta have since denied this claim.)
Hadid, meanwhile, took the approach of addressing Braun and Borchetta directly. “Scott and Scooter, you know what the right thing to do is,” the supermodel — and Swift’s longtime BFF — tweeted. “Taylor and her fans deserve to celebrate the music!!”

Corporate power should not have the right to control what @taylorswift13 can and can not do, and then have the audacity to deny their actions?!

what a complete power pull @scooterbraun @scottborchetta. the way this industry is set up, there are times where we have to get legal permission to perform anything we share rights to. but denying access like this is solely to play with and diminish a person. https://t.co/noNDUeFzYE

At the end of the day, these two men aren’t hurting for money…they should just let her sing her damn songs that she created. Life is too short for all this ego driven drama. Periodt. Stop being assholes #JusticeForTaylorSwift #IStandForTaylor

Outrageous, for someone to pour everything into their art and have someone else put a stop to them performing those songs is a huge injustice. I really hope this gets put right. #IStandWithTaylor https://t.co/Gi5GljIoCi

Private equity groups’ predatory practices actively hurt millions of Americans.
Their leveraged buyouts have destroyed the lives of retail workers across the country, scrapping 1+ million jobs. Now they’re holding @taylorswift13’s own music hostage.
They need to be reigned in. https://t.co/mSVeH718Hn
