Taylor Swift had a heart-warming message for her pal Lorde on the occasion of the “Royals” singer’s 20th birthday on Monday (Nov. 7). In an Insta pic of a glittery, homemade card featuring Lorde’s birth name (Ella) in a garland around the number 20, Swift wrote a loving note reminiscing about the first time the pair met and how much Lorde’s friendship has meant to her.
“Thank you for the music you make, the advice you give, the thoughts you provoke, and the way you’ve made my life more beautiful since the first day we met up in New York and ate burgers on a park bench and got attacked by squirrels,” she wrote.
The friends also joined an all-star squad of friends for a party at the restaurant Carbone in Soho, which was filled with balloons. “Had the best birthday party I’ve ever had tonight surrounded by my nyc family,” Lorde captioned one snap. “All organised by tay who is as she says, ‘a mom with no kids.’ i am ur kid and u love me so hard i could burst.”
The New York party featured a number of other celebrity friends as well, including Lena Dunham, Aziz Ansari, Karlie Kloss, Mae Whitman and Rachel Antonoff. Check out the pics from the epic-looking night.
