Answering some fan questions on YouTube just before the album dropped, Swift told fans that one thing she did purposely on this one was drop her famous Easter eggs in the lyrics rather than just in the videos.
“I created character arcs and recurring themes that map out who is singing about who,” she said.
Here’s where it gets interesting. On “Invisible String,” she sings the line, “Cold was the steel of my axe to grind/ For the boys who broke my heart/ Now I send their babies presents.”
Now, that one seems very specific, and Swifties swiftly hit Twitter to speculate that she might be talking about ex Joe Jonas, who is expecting his first child with wife Sophie Turner any day now.
If you do the math, as far as we know, the only one of Taylor’s exes who has children is rumored brief BF Eddie Redmayne, who has a four-year-old daughter and two-year-old son with wife Hannah Bagshawe.
