Taylor Swift, who’s been bringing out special musical guests each night on her 1989 World Tour, invited “Classic” duo MKTO to the stage at Gillette Stadium on Saturday, July 25. The concert was the second of two sold out shows at the Massachusetts venue.
Before trading off on verses, joining in on the chorus and dancing to “Classic,” Swift took a few moments to explain why was so excited to perform with MKTO.
“I first heard this song on the radio — it was all over the radio for like the last year, and I loved it so much that even though it was being played all the time, I needed to have it,” she said. “So I bought it and listened to it all the time. My friends and I would dance around to it because it’s like the most … it’s like the sweetest song a guy could write for a girl. It’s also so catchy, so danceable, and this duo is one of my favorite things out there. They’re incredibly cool people, so talented, and they’re about to sing ‘Classic’ for you.”

MKTO joins an impressive list of guests to appear on Swift’s stage so far on this tour. At the first Gillette Stadium show, she sang “Shut Up and Dance” with Walk the Moon. On other recent dates, artists including The Weeknd, Nick Jonas, Jason Derulo, Sam Hunt and Andy Grammer performed with her.
