While most of the attention was on Taylor Swift for her big wins at Sunday’s (May 20) 2018 BBMA’s — which included an award for best female artist — some people were just as focused on the singer’s impressive dress. The Reputation star wore a gorgeous pink Versace gown with a thigh high split that was embellished with silver and feathers, and it turns out crafting it was a huge undertaking.
Four weeks prior to the awards, Versace Group vice president Donatella Versace gave fans a glimpse of the dress on her Instagram story, with the simple but powerful caption, “This gown took more than 800 hours to bring to life.”

While that is no small feat, Swift made sure to give a charming thank you to the fashion icon. “My first award show in a few years and it was so much fun thanks to you. I love you guys,” the singer wrote on Instagram. “PS thanks Versace for this delicate dress.”
