Swift opened the show with “Blank Space” during a “Dream Girls” segment, wearing a cream colored slip and a matching floor-length robe as belted out her chart-topping hit. With one of her best friends Lily Aldridge walking in the show and this being her second year in a row performing at the Victoria Secret’s Fashion Show, Swift seemed right at home amidst the models, taking some’s hands and partially escorting them down the runway as she strutted the stage and vogued a few poses of her own.
One of Swift’s other best buddies, Sheeran, followed up in the next segment, playing “Thinking Out Loud” as models Adriana Lima and Alessandra Ambrosio took the catwalk wearing $2 million gem-encrusted bras. Backstage afterwards, Swift yelled to him, “Killed it! Yeah!”
Grande’s performance was next, giving not just one song but four of her hits in a medley that included “Love Me Harder,” “Bang Bang,” “Break Free” and “Problems” — coincidentally reverse chronological order of the singles’ releases over this past year. Wearing a glitzy two-piece outfit with knee-high socks and a multicolored leopard print miniskirt that only wrapped around halfway kind of like a shawl for her butt, the singer brought her backup dancers onto the runway with her, pumping up the energy with both her songs and her crew’s presence for the University of Pink segment that echoed this attitude with bright colors and styles.
Hozier proceeded, singing “Take Me to the Church” in a black suit with a long jacket, leaning lover his mike stand as models strut past him in a woodland fairy-themed segment.
But it was only appropriate Swift would to the stage again to close the night, this time performing the television premiere of “Style” — a fitting song for the occasion. Dressed in sheer black lace lingerie this time, she flaunted her long legs with some dramatic moves, flirting her costars onstage and closing the segment alone on the runway with a pose to the camera.
