It’s been 25 years since former Journey singer Steve Perry got in front of a camera for an official music video. The singer broke that streak on Friday (March 22) when he released the visual for his nostalgic ballad “We’re Still Here.”
With Perry behind the wheel of a classic black 1970 Chevelle vowing to heed the call of the night, the clip finds the singer cruising by a series of iconic Hollywood locations as he watches the Hollywood streets come alive.
The video from Perry’s new solo album Traces is his first one as a solo artist since 1994’s “Missing You” and first official video since Journey’s 1996 track “When You Love a Woman.” It was directed by Myrian Santos (Common, Andra Day) and in a statement Perry said the feel of it was inspired by the same emotions that drew him to co-write the track with Canadian producer/songwriter Brian West.
