There have been rumors and speculation about a Spice Girls reunion circling the 20-year anniversary of the ’90s chart toppers’ hit “Wanna Be” and now it seems there may be some truth to it all — key word being some.
5 Reasons We Still Really, Really Love the Spice Girls’ ‘Wannabe’ 20 Years Later
Three out of the five Spice Girls — Geri “Ginger Spice” Halliwell, Emma “Baby Spice” Bunton and Melanie “Scary Spice” Brown — appear to be teaming up with a new acronymic splinter group called GEM, the singers hinted on Saturday (July 9).
“We’ve been thinking, we have the best fans in the whole entire world,” the threesome says in a new video. “You stood by us for 20 years and we want to say thank you. We’ve had our ups and downs, but you’ve always been there. And we want to celebrate and have a party — and when we do, you’re all invited.”

The video concludes wishing a happy 20th birthday to all Spice Girls fans, teasing a further announcement to follow, giving viewers “what you want, what you really really want.”
Noticeably absent are Victoria “Posh Spice” Beckham and Melanie “Sporty Spice” Chisholm. Amidst the discussion of a reunion, Beckham has maintained that she is focusing on her family and fashion career.
Meanwhile, Chisholm is reportedly focusing on her new solo record career. She told The Sun, “I am keeping tight-lipped. There are lots of discussions going on. Right now I am in the studio working on my own album and that is my focus. I’m taking it slowly.”
