It’s Memorial Day Weekend, so you know what that means — predicting which jam will be fueling your barbecues and pool parties all summer long. Yes, it’s song of the summer time, and there are plenty of sweat-inducing bangers to choose from.
It won’t surprise anyone who has been inspired to put some Wrangler on their booty lately, but Lil Nas X’s “Old Town” road is high in the mix thanks to seven weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100. That’s just one spot above another potential summer blockbuster, Ed Sheeran and Justin Bieber‘s “I Don’t Care,” which just jumped into the No. 2 slot, leaping over the former No. 1 from The Jonas Brothers, “Sucker.”
If it feels like Taylor Swift and Panic! at the Disco‘s Brendon Urie have been everywhere with their former No. 2 hit “Me!,” that’s no mirage, same with BTS‘s collab with Halsey, “Boy with Luv,” which peaked at No. 8 on the Hot 100. Add in BLACKPINK‘s “Kill This Love,” Lizzo‘s “Truth Hurts,” Halsey’s “Nightmare,” and “The London” from Young Thug, J. Cole and Travis Scott and you have a killer playlist by any score.
Did we mention Shawn Mendes‘ “If I Can’t Have You,” Madonna‘s “Medellin” and Daddy Yankee‘s “Con Calma?” All in the mix. Now it’s your turn.
